Jefferson County Internship Consortium
Jefferson County Internship Consortium (JCIC) is a full-time psychology doctoral internship that offers doctoral interns a unique blend of experiences and trainings to support preparing future psychologists for public health sector.
Our consortium consists of several agencies including Seven Counties Services (Community Mental Health Center), Bellewood & Brooklawn (Adolescent Residential Facility), Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center, and Central State Hospital (Adult State Hospital). The JCIC internship is a generalist program designed to prepare interns for licensed professional practice, with the particular focus on public-sector mental health services and collaborative consultation with other health service providers and community agencies.
JCIC Offers
- Diverse training experiences with rotations including, but not limited to, inpatient treatment, outpatient therapy, forensic assessment, psychological testing, specialized trauma work, and immigrant/refugee work.
- An emphasis on quality training, including being trained in several evidence-based practices, with the opportunity for extensive supervision covering multiple theoretical orientations.
- A unique opportunity to conduct therapy sessions while receiving live supervision.
- Multiple opportunities to consult and collaborate within multidisciplinary treatment teams.
